Okay, onto the ballot review. \u00a0We talked about \u00a0most of the\u00a0Propositions\u00a0and generally agreed on voting recommendations. \u00a0So, here goes…<\/p>\n

Prop 30 – Governor Brown’s tax initiative. \u00a0YES<\/p>\n

Prop 31 – Establishes 2 year budget. \u00a0Mixed response. \u00a0You may want to complete your own research. \u00a0NO<\/p>\n

Prop 32 – political contributions. \u00a0Unions against. \u00a0NO<\/p>\n

Prop 34 – repeal the death penalty. \u00a0The death penalty costs more than life imprisonment. \u00a0YES<\/p>\n

Prop 35 – human trafficking. \u00a0YES<\/p>\n

Prop 36 – lessen the effects of the 3 Strikes law. \u00a0YES<\/p>\n

Prop 37 – labeling GMO foods. \u00a0Large chemical companies, such as Monsanto and Dupont, have poured money, over $12 million, into California to defeat this\u00a0initiative. \u00a0Sharon shared a link about how genetically engineered foods affect the environment ,\u00a0click here<\/a>. YES<\/p>\n

Prop 38 – PTA tax initiative for Education. \u00a0YES or NO. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0(You can read more about the two education props at my school’s website: \u00a0click here for Los Compadres<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Prop 39 – tax on out of state companies that sell product here. \u00a0YES<\/p>\n

Prop 40 – redistricting state senate districts. \u00a0Seems reasonable. \u00a0YES<\/p>\n

Prop Z – San Diego Unified school bond. \u00a0Mixed response. \u00a0YES or NO<\/p>\n

We didn’t make definite\u00a0decisions\u00a0on candidates and judges because we didn’t have enough info. \u00a0For Mayor, most were still undecided. \u00a0For San Diego Unified School Board we decided on John Lee Evans (current member) and William Ponder.<\/p>\n
