Schools need the money.&nbsp; Bonds is the way that schools get funded for construction. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prop 3 Constitutional right to marriage YES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prop 4 Authorizes Bonds for safe Drinking water, wildlife prevention, and protecting communities and natural Lands from Climate Risks YES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bonds.&nbsp; Howard Jarvis Tax opposes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prop 5 Allows Local Bonds for Affordable Housing and Public Infrastructure with 55% voter Approval &nbsp;YES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lowers the local government tax to a 55% voter approval instead of two-thirds vote. No vote keeps it at two-thirds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prop 6 Eliminate Constitutional Provision Allowing Involuntary Servitude for incarcerated Persons YES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are interested in learning more, watch the documentary The Thirteenth about the thirteenth amendment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prop 32 Raises Minimum Raise (put on ballot by petition signatures) YES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Mixed feelings. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prop 33 Expands Local Governments Authority to Enact Rent Control on Residential Property&nbsp; (put on ballot by petition signatures) NO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Michael Weinstein puts this forward because he doesn\u2019t want the State to be involved in his properties. He is a slumlord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>YIMBY is voting NO.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If in doubt, vote NO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prop 34 Restricts Spending of Prescription Drug Revenues by certain Health Care Providers (put on ballot by petition signatures)&nbsp; NO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Will probably go to court if passed.&nbsp; If its going to be litigated it will be expensive for the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The State is already negotiating for lower prescription through Medi-Cal (?).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prop 35 Provided Permanent Funding for Medi-Cal Health care Services (put on ballot by petition signatures) NO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>League of Women voters opposed. Limits the legislature flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Legislature should have flexibility to make changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prop 36 Allows Felony charges and Increases Sentences for Certain Drug and Theft Crimes (put on ballot by petition signatures) NO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Will harsher penalties deter the ring behavior? &nbsp;League of Womens Voters is opposed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People don\u2019t want to go to Target etc and shop where things are locked up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prisons are expensive and are for-profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There needs accountability.&nbsp; Restorative justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SAN DIEGO COUNTY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Measure G Fund SD County Transportation Infrastructure and Safety Project through a half-cent Sales Tax&nbsp; YES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Needs simple majority to pass since this was brought by voter initiative (petition signatures).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tax puts more money into public transportation, not highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott Peters for it.&nbsp; Carl de Maio against.&nbsp; UT is against.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CITY OF SAN DIEGO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Measure C Amendments to charter Section 66 Regarding Board of Education Elections YES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Getting rid of the Primary if two or fewer running for the seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Measure D Adding Charter Section 41.3 and amending section 41 to Strengthen the Independence of the Ethics Commission YES &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ethics reports to and is controlled by the City Council.&nbsp; Makes the Ethics&nbsp; Commission<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Measure E&nbsp; City of SD Sales Tax &nbsp;YES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; One cent sales tax<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who will manage the money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One reason for budget deficit \u2013 fast track construction in housing. Paying no DIF fees. Apartment complexes in backyards aren\u2019t paying development fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Measure HH SD Community College District Classroom Repair, Affordable Education, Careers Measure YES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UT says yes on Prop HH.&nbsp; SD Taxpayers Association support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specific projects that each Community College.&nbsp; City, Miramar, Mesa, Continuing Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President: Harris\/Walz<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>US Senator: Adam Schiff (for both)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>US Representative: Sara Jacobs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>State Senator: Akilah Weber<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>State Assembly:&nbsp; Chris Ward<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>School: Gregg Robinson and Richard Barrera<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SD City Mayor: Todd Gloria<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SD City City Attorney: Heather Ferbert (works with current City Attorney Mara Elliot) Heather has come up through the City Attorney\u2019s office and learned from Mara who is a successful City Attorney.
