{"id":102,"date":"2012-09-24T18:14:24","date_gmt":"2012-09-24T18:14:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/global-gals.com\/?p=102"},"modified":"2012-09-24T18:14:24","modified_gmt":"2012-09-24T18:14:24","slug":"ggg-silk-thermal-imaging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/global-gals.com\/?p=102","title":{"rendered":"GGG &#8211; Silk Thermal Imaging"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<em>From our gathering on June 14, 2012.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Our guest speaker was Catherine Johnson from Silk Thermal Imaging. \u00a0She has worked in the bio-tech field for 17 years. \u00a0Her presentation is filled with health care facts.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, U.S. spend about $2 trillion on \u00a0healthcare. \u00a0For example, $180 billion on lung cancer, $200 billion general healthcare. \u00a0In 2008, we spent $234 billion on prescription drugs.<\/p>\n<p>More breast cancer is\u00a0occurring\u00a0now. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Because of environment such as exposure to common chemicals, radiation, plastics, styrofoam, and teflon coated cookware. \u00a0Chemicals are\u00a0hormone\u00a0disruptors. \u00a0Breast cancer in younger women tend to be aggressive.<\/p>\n<p>Lymphatic congestion if left untreated can lead to breast cancer. \u00a0The\u00a0lymphatic\u00a0system relies on fluids and physical activities. \u00a0Breast cancer is not a genetic\u00a0disease. \u00a0Breast size not\u00a0significant\u00a0factor\u00a0in breast cancer diagnosis. \u00a0Studies show that mammograms are more effective with women over 50 because of breast density. \u00a0Mammograms are an x-ray of soft tissue and include 4 shots of radiation.<\/p>\n<p>Thermal imaging is a high resolution thermographic image. \u00a0Can see dad cells, hotspots (nitric oxide). \u00a0It uses infrared cameras to detect heat. \u00a0Angiagenesis generates heat.
